How our models are made.

The models from the Nausica collection are reproductions of the great ships who have made history.
We give you a choice of different origins, German, English, American, Spanish and French.
The hulls are shaped from humidity-controlled blocks of teak and tecoma.
The planking (strakes) are nailed and the deck caulked. Parts such as cannons and their carriages,
anchors ladders dinghies blocks and tackle etc are prepared at the same time.
The sculptures for the prow and stern are made from solid wood.
The masts and spars are made from beechwood from the Jura mountains.
When assembled, the ship is coated with a mixture ofalcohol and gum Arabic, this giving a patina which enables her to grace modern offices or the most refined homes.
The masts are then positioned, the rigging rigged and the sails mounted. The ship is then checked
in every detail before being presented to you.
